What's The Weather Like Today?

When I was a little girl, my oldest brother received a Weather Kit one year as a gift when he was about 6 years old. I was quite young and don't remember this, but my mother recalls one afternoon when he was outdoors playing while she worked at the kitchen sink. He had taken his weather kit outdoors, was studying the cloud chart that was included in the book and was trying to identify the clouds he saw above. He called to her through the window to get her attention telling her that the clouds indicated severe weather and perhaps a tornado! She smiled and went about her work. That night, while everyone was asleep, a huge storm and even a tornado did indeed occur, ripping the roof off of a house down the street!

Dot To Dot Connections is located in the deep south, and while we don't have extreme cold and snow, we do have a variety of weather conditions during any given season. Since the beginning of 2018 alone, we have experienced cold, snow, heat, humidity, fog, thunderstorms and rain....and more rain....and more rain. Lately, it has been so warm that it feels almost spring-like outdoors!

The newest Connections Box, Weather Watch, is now available in the shop! Children will have the opportunity to read about and learn about the weather through a variety of fun activities. As always, there are step-by-step instructions included and you have the chance to share some of your personal experiences with your child with the journaling prompts. (This is one of my favorite features of the Connection Boxes.)

Creating a new business is a learning process and I have learned so much. The quality of our activities, materials and even packing have improved with each box and this particular box, Weather Watch is my favorite so far! I hope you like it, too!
