BOTANICAL

Step into my botanical wonderland with these Botanical designs, where every petal and leaf is a reflection of my deep-rooted passion for being outdoors surrounded by nature. Appropriate for everything from fabric to household goods, to home decor, you are sure to find the perfect design to create your own garden of inspiration.

Petals In The Sky

As an avid bird-lover, I take great joy in spotting Mississippi kites and hawks soaring through the skies, high above my home. These magnificent birds inspired this collection, to which I added folk-art touches on their wings. Being a favorite of mine, I used this collection in a slightly different colorway to design and make a quilted jacket that was featured in a local art show.

Whispering Woods

Several years ago, after a trip to a small river in OK for tubing and kayaking, we lingered near the small waterfall until it was quite dark. Being the only people left, my husband and I and step-son gathered our belongings and began the steep climb back through the woods to our vehicle. And suddenly the woods were lit up for thousands of fireflies! It was so magical that neither of us have ever forgotten the feeling. This collection was inspired by that memory. I look forward to purchasing some of this fabric for myself with a special quilt in mind.

Burst of Blooms

Bright and girly, the Burst of Blooms collection was designed with a tween girl’s bedding in mind. However, it is also perfect for clothing, throws, and quilts.

Reading Magic

I have loved reading since I was a little girl and as a teacher of young children amassed quite a collection of beloved children’s books. While my personal reading dropped of for a little while, I am enjoying it more than ever in recent years with the discovery of audiobooks. This collection is an homage to book-lovers like me.

Momo’s Garden

Just outside my back door is a large miniature rose bush that blooms with tiny pink flowers from early spring until fall. Started from a cutting of my mother’s bush many years ago, it sparks memories of her and the flower gardens she cultivated as I sit outside with my breakfast. Known to her grandchildren and their friends as Momo, this collection serves as a tribute to some of her favorite things.

Very Berry Harvest

As part of of a Spoonflower challenge, I created these designs using a Pantone Peach color palette. While not your typical strawberry colors, I like the softness of the colorway and the way the “stitched” blenders reflect the stitching in quilts.

Gingko Grove

Inspired by the unique shape of ginkgo leaves, Gingko Grove has become one of my most popular designs on Spoonflower, purchased for both fabric and wallpaper. This colorway, featured in one of Spoonflower’s challenges, differs from my usual palette but works beautifully for clothing, home decor, and even paper products like notebooks.

Mountain Meadow

It’s no secret to those that know me how much I love being outdoors. A few years ago, I was able to visit Colorado during the height of wildflower season and I will never forget the beauty I saw there. Mountain Meadow is my depiction of that scene, with vibrant flowers at the foot of the mountains accompanied by soaring birds in the sky.

Pocket of Posies

A denim pocket full of wildflowers, the hero design in this collection was inspired by my love for stopping on the side of the road to pick wildflowers. Fortunately, my husband indulges this habit and almost always has a pair of scissors handy in his truck, knowing that “I never met a wildflower I didn’t love.”

My Cutting Garden

While I don't have the green thumb my mother had, I do love gardening. Several years ago, I transformed a section of my yard near the fence into a cutting garden. In the fall, I plant bulbs for spring blooms, and in the summer, hundreds of zinnias flourish. Cutting Garden is inspired by this space, featuring both the tulips of spring and the zinnias of summer, with a nod to the overgrown vines I continually battle along the fence.

Into The Woods

Who doesn’t love cute forest animals? Perfect for a fall quilt, or perhaps a table setting of placemats and napkins, Into The Woods features woodland animals and pumpkins surrounded by folk-art flowers, leaves and acorns. There is even a plaid that make a great backing or binding for your next quilt.

Spring’s Arrival

Here in the South, dogwood trees herald the arrival of spring. In this collection, sketches of these beautiful blossoms are featured on both bold black and softer pastels, offering a nice variety for your sewing preferences. The coordinating fabrics include tiny florals, sketchy stripes, and subtle blenders.
